I take the retaliations with stride. Usually it's clear to your buyers/sellers anyway when they look at both people.

I got one when post winning bid the guy insists that shipping should never be more than the winning bid price. We finally agree that I can ship just the main item without box and manuals for the price he is willing to pay.

The guy is supposed to send a money order, instead sends a check and in the memo writes for phone, box and manuals with both box and manuals underlined a billion times.

I neg'd him and mailed back his check.

He was very threatening and said everyone else knew better than to leave him negatives (he only had a few feedback but had a lot of purchases at low bids that he'd resell.

I found a website on him from another person basically how he began calling and threatening.

He finally got removed.

you cant expect a positive feedback when you left a negative, thats how ebay works. you either have to eat the negative or ignore all the BS (and there's a lot of it) and move on.

As soon as payment is made, the seller should leave positive feedback.

As soon as the item arrives and is as described, the buyer should leave positive feedback.

Then no bullshit can arise if the buyer is screwed.

If the OP is being truthinessful, then he deserves positive feedback. He was tasked to make a payment following the guidelines of the auction. That's it.

That works well from a buyer's perspective. From a seller's perspective once you leave your feedback you are not done with any secondary negotiations the buyer pulls.

I don't leave feedback until the buyer has the goods and signs off on them.

seriously, you can trump back and give them more feedback (add a comment under their comment in your feedback) that says they retaliated your negative feedback of them with slanderous and untrue feedback directed towards you.

This often backfires. Trick is to be short and to the point on it.

The ebay forums are great to see other's examples.

For the most part many don't use ebay as a business and most only buy so a ding here and there doesn't affect them.
