I bid on a promotional item for the upcoming release of Stephen King's next book in The Dark Tower series. I apparently didn't hit the reserve but asked him, that, if I was close, would he consider splitting the difference or making some other type of arrangement.

His reply:

Dear sir: My reserve was $39.95,you weren't close and
i won't split the difference. You apparently do not
comphrehend how rare this item is.The item itself is
extremely rare.Having it signed by Bernie Wrightson,a
world famous artist, makes it even rarer!!!I will be
changing the listing and raising the reserve!!!$26.51
ain't going to cut it!!!

BTW, another auction for the same piece did close at $39.95.

What an ass.

;)

Email him and ask if he has a Mary Worth telephone. See if he gets it.

If you split the difference, it would come to $33.23. He's throwing such a fit over $6.72? He'll sell for $39.95, but $33.23 is out of the question? Dork.

If it didn't make the $39.95 reserve, why would he believe that it would make a HIGHER reserve? What an idiot...

You should message him from another ID with other questions, it can be quite entertaining.

There was a guy in our office we all didn't like too much, when he eBayed stuff we had him believing he was talking to a hot girl that liked to do odd things with the things he was selling. We even got him to send a photo of himself and one of the items, per "her" request. The prank potentials are endless.

Tell him you're stephen king's estranged wife and you're just looking to get close to him again in any way possible. Then ask him if he looks like stephen king, or maybe you'll meet him if he wears a stephen king mask...

heh heh...

He's relisted it with NO BIDDING.   It only has a Buy It Now price of $79.95.

What a maroon...if $26.51 was the highest bid, if he thinks $79.95 is fair...hmmm...

Well....there are suckers out there, though.

Ha...here it is and I like this, too:

"Last chance at this price!!!If there is another offering for this, the price will go up!!!"

LOL!

And... look at his other auctions

Maybe he really is the Comic Book Guy!!

LoL, someone bought it for $79.99. I guess he was smart not to take your offer ;) He just had to wait long enough for a clueless sap to come along. However, I suppose the personal value for him was more than the monetary value of $80... not so much for me ;)
