My father is a huge Star Trek fan and I know he does'nt have these in his collection. Are they decent books to buy for a trekkie? Thinking of a Father's Day gift.

I would say probably not. It looks like they are just a comic-book-like account of the actual Star Trek episodes. Each one is an episode. From the information on the cover, it looks like each page is going to be a picture of a scene from the episode with the word bubbles (or whatever they're called) with the character's words from the episode.

He's probably seen all of these episodes and would most likely prefer to watch them again rather than read through these.

In most things, it's difficult to buy a gift for someone's hobby unless you share in that hobby as well and are knowledgeable of it.

Hopefully this helps.

Oooh, thanks for reminding me to get those. I haven't been able to find them anywhere in that condition. I'll gladly set my bid at $1000, brb.

If he's a huge trek fan, he'd probably love to have those in his collection.

It really depends on what kind of fan he is. Personally, I really like Star Trek, but I don't have any collectibles, posters, etc. I wouldn't want these to add to my "collection", because I don't have one. I do, on the other hand, read lots of Star Trek books and would appreciate some good reads as a present as long as I don't have them.

I think these items cater to the Star Trek collector-item fan more so than to the Star Trek likes-to-read-books fan (sorry I could think of a better name).

Well he said "I know he does'nt have these in his collection." I'd think, therefore, that his father actually does have a collection. If that's the case, and he enjoys collecting star trek memorabilia, thn I think that this would be a great gift. Even though its not a book to read, having an old thing like that could be cool.

Personally, not a star trek fan ;)
