eBay question

RossMAN

Grand Nagus
If I sell an item with Buy It Now, once someone places a bid no one can use Buy It Now.

What if there is currently 1 bid placed, if I CANCEL that bid ... can someone else purchase the item using BIN?

You should be able to BIN whenever you feel like whether it before or after a bid, unless the bid is higher than buy it now somehow...

I don't think that's true. I think once a bid has been placed, Buy It Now is no longer an option.

Can any experienced eBayers confirm this?

If it is a reserve auction, Buy it Now will be available until the reserve is met, IIRC. Otherwise, it goes away when there is a bid.

I'm not sure. I would assume yes, the auction would revert back the way it was.. but I'm not sure, never canceled a bid.

Ross, once a bid has been placed, BIN is no longer an option. HOWEVER, if you cancel that bid, BIN becomes an option again. Does that answer your question?

Yes it does perfectly!!! Thanks 🙂

For the record Dezign was correct, once I called the eBay user explained what happened, cancelled their bid ... Buy It Now appears again 🙂

What happens when you get irrate bidders that may want to mess with your auctions because you cancelled their bids?
If you start at $1.00 with a buy it now at say $50, I will bet there are a lot of bidders that like to kill BINs. That strategy can get tedious if you have to cancel lots of bids.
Best of luck though. 😀

Edit for spelling
