I was looking for some speakers for a friend of mine. I saw this set of Logitech Z-3 speakers for $24.99 with free shipping and $1.00 insurance. However, the item description states that the shipping is $19.99 with a required $5.00 insurance.

Here is another auction for the same item from the seller, but this time his description prices are listed correctly in the price summary on top and bottom.
Another one with free shipping, except it says Free Shipping several times in the description and the subheading.

Anyway, I just now purchased the first one with B.I.N., and I went through Paypal and the prices were fixed, so Paypal charged me $24.99 + $1.00 insurance. I am curious if anybody has experienced a similar situation, and is there any way the seller can require me to pay the extra $25?

You should've emailed the dumbass who put up the auction and ask him exactly how much he wants to get paid.

Unfortunately there was an error in the listing. As stated in the description, a shipping fee of $19.99 + $5.01 is required for this particular item. We will contact eBay directly regarding the description error.

We will refund your Pay Pal payment and do apoligize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Politely ask him to cancel this transaction since the auction information was wrong.

I've done similar when I was selling stuff, it happens when you are using a bulk lister or auction manager and forget to change settings between items.

What do you mean? Yes, I did read all the replies. I always read all the replies before I post, even on multi page threads.

I said that because of the OP's post about the reply from the seller about the wrong shipping charge, I assumed that the seller would send him a new total with the corrected shipping since that's what sellers usually do. He posted this AFTER the first 4 posts, just in case you hadn't noticed.
