So I bought that modem off of the guy. He claimed that it was version "b" not "a". When I received it, I got version "a" and the feet on the modem were taken off. He did not state that the feet were off. I also did not receive an adapter. He didn't mentioned any adapter but I assumed that he had one.

So he did not send in the right version, did not tell me that the feet were off(can't stand it vertically), and did not say that there was no adapter.

I sent him a message but he hasn't responded in 2 days.

What should I do besides leaving negative feedback?

open a paypal complaint and escalate it to dispute.

What lesson is he learning by sitting back and taking a load in the mouth?

Buying a $6 modem from somebody with questional feedback (5% negative is to much for me) may not be the best idea.

Adapter he could probably whine and get out of....his auction states "B" version, and supporting ppoe (which the A does not). The picture shows feet, so it's safe to assume feet.

Ebay/paypal dispute. Did you pay via CC?

Whatever you do consider the fact that he very well retaliate with negative feedback and as far as I know ... Ebay does not retract negatives. Of course ... this could have changed, but I highly doubt it.

then you don't be a bitch about it and leave a followup comment. it's hard to leave a retal. comment against "seller misrepresented item and will not negotiate" or something similar.

Yeah, its hard to do if you have some sort of decency when doing business. Sadly, a lot of people dont and will gladly leave a retal negative feedback.

eBay does have policy against retaliatory feedback, and also allows negative feedback to be mutually retracted.

He can file the dispute thru s paypal. He got the item, but did not get the item represented in the description.

Don't go the "chalk this up as lesson learned." Too many do that, and that just let's the scammers get away with it. Stand up for you rights, don't just bow down and leave it.
