Ebay Listing Question

When you post an item on Ebay, what software do you use to make up the ad. Have tried Ebay's built in interface and it's really hard to work with. Tried DreamWeaver to make up a custom HTML design and it didn't port over properly to Ebay's portal.

I want to use some sort of HTML editor to make the ad look decent and not like crap.

Thanks!!

What are you selling? Few sellers go through the trouble and just post a couple of pictures and a text description.

That is what I've always done.

Helping someone clean out his garage/basement. When I tried to post stuff on eBay, the text and images don't line up properly. I even called Ebay support which was a complete waste of time. What I am trying to do is post a very simple html page so it doesn't look like shit to the buyer. Right now, I have boxes of old comic books going up, but it't taking me forever to get the post to look decent without a good software tool.

Same here, never had a problem. Of course it depends on what you're selling, the demand for it, condition and price.

I've sold there since 1998 and I've always made up my listings in MS Word. Then I just upload a pic(s) and I am set to go.
If the preview of the auction doesn't look right (font size, text lining up), I just make some adjustment in my Word file and upload them again
until I get it right. It's usually not an issue.

It doesn't have to be perfect. Just have it free of spelling mistakes and a proper description and picture(s) of the items being sold.
Stock photos are OK, I guess, but me as a buyer, I want to see the item I am buying.
That's all people care about. That, and the price and free shipping

Sounds like you are going for what you believe is "professional " quality listing......just use ebays built in feature! You are way over thinking this eye appeal thing.....just do as esquared said to do!!

Things I care about on ebay...

Item is what I want
Price is acceptable
I'm not likely to get screwed

That's the extent of my care. I don't care what the ad looks like, and I don't even care about your spelling, though if it's too bad, I might think you're gonna screw me, or aren't smart enough to find the post office. Otherwise, I simply need to know what I'm buying. Function > form

Do you have a smartphone?

Us the eBay app. I love it and it's so easy.

Good Luck.
