I try to make a career on it but its failing miserable and have lost any incentive to sell anymore on ebay. I have paid like 66 dollars in selling fees within 3 weeks, sold only about 200 dollars worth of stuff that I took a huge loss on something I thought someone would bid more for. 200-66 selling fee = 133. shipping- 43 bucks = 90 - 9 dollars paypal fee= 81 dollars in my pocket. stuffs that I sold for next to nothing: 160gb 8mb hd, 30gb, 40gb,40gb, 512mb dimm, 256mb dimm,20gb,20gb,17gb,17gb, CDR 32x 50pk, CDR 16x50pk, CDR 48x 50pk

Judging a bit by your sentence structure, perhaps could have to do with your marketing and presentation? Could also be a result of the end of auctioning timing, as well. A bit of research can aid both endeavors.

Am certainly not an authority on selling on eBay (in fact, I rarely participate in such), but perhaps a recent personal example could help. Auctioned off a used (but currently not registered) retail upgrade version of Windows 98SE. Starting value was $9.99. Seven day auction, I believe. Andale counter registered something along the lines of 1,500 views. Approximately 37 bids. Ending value was $139.90 (which was quite a bit more than what I purchased it for, years ago). Why so high? Research, and really did not require much effort to do so. Careful title choice, good presentation of the product, etc. $145.90 total, minus the shipping cost ($3.85), the eBay fees, and the fee from PayPal as well. Still, quite a bit more than auctions of similar products.

Presentation and marketing of the product, coupled with a bit of research in regards to placement and timing, is as important as the product itself. At least, in my brief experience.
