I would contact half.com right now before they go taking money out of your account. You could always close the account or lock them out of it somehow.

Seems like everything is going to be fine. Here is an email I just got from the boyfriend...

"Chris,
Thank you very much for responding to me. My girlfriend has not
been
getting the e-mails and I am sorry for the e-mail. Im sure you could
understand my frustration as I have not heard anything and still have
not
recieved my book. I have already tried asking the campus mail and they
have
just shrugged their shoulders like a bunch of dumb bastards, and if you
have
shipped it as you say I will hold back the negative rating. I wil try
and
contact somone higher up in the mailing system and see if I can locate
the
package. They have been known to be incompetent before but the reason I
e-mailed you was because my girlfriend still had not recieved any
e-mail
from you. Something could be messed up with her address. But at any
rate,
thank you for the $5 refund and going through the trouble to look up my
e-mail address on the NAU directory. Have a good weekend Chris and I
will
notify you when I recieve the book.

Thanks again,
Jon"

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR HELP GUYS!

Here's the deal. Someone ordered a Chem book I had for sale on Half.com on 8/23. This was during the whole SoBig crap that filled my email inbox every hour. For whatever reason, I never got the half.com confirmation email so I didnt know I had to ship the book until I got an email from the girl on the 9th of Sept.. I email back basically explaining the situation and telling her I would mail the book out the next day and include $5 as compensation for her trouble (seems fair to me). So I ship the book out Priority and it gets delivered on the 12th of Sept. (tracking number 0302 0980 0001 0897 7800 if you care). I continue to get emails from the girl asking where the book is and why I never responded to her eariler emails (wtf? she must not check her bulk mail folder or something and that is where my emails are going). Today I get this one:

That is very strange, because half.com will not even accept the order if you do not confirm it on their website. If you fail to confirm after 2 or 3 days, it automatically denies the transaction. So if you failed to receive any email and never checked the website, there is no way this transaction went through.

He emailed on the 12th asking why it hadn't shipped (he was looking on amazon or something even though _I_ had shipped it). He immediately left me a 1/5. Oh, and I emailed him on the 9th but the email adress he used didn't work, so he never got it.

Yeah, I've sold over 100 items on both amazon and half and a huge proportion of moronic customers come from amazon. They will leave you a 1/5 without a thought and without contacting you first to resolve any problems, even if you are extremely conscientous as a seller. Even though I use the exact same business practices on both sites, I have 2 1/5's out of 25 or so feedbacks on amazon and almost 200 positives with no negs on eBay / half.com. The moronic customers and huge commision that amazon takes makes selling there such a pain.
