eBay feedback question

I wanna leave a deadbeat some neg feedback, but I don't wanna give him much time to get me back and leave me some.

If an auction ended Jan 12, I have 90 days to leave feedback right ? So that would be untill like around April 12th, right ?

IMO, it's not worth risking a retalitory neg to leave a negative for a deadbeat bidder. eBay is full of them. Now a scam artist seller is another thing. They're criminals. But with deadbeat bidders, just submit your deadbeat form, get your listing refund, and list again. In my 6 years on eBay, it's become part of the process.
 
I had that exact thing happen to me on a 5 dollar item. Unfortunately I let it slip since it wasn't worth the feedback trouble.

Needless to say I don't dabble in the 5 buck items any more.
 
No way, definetley leave feedback, it's expected that you are going to run into boneheads on egay and have negatives yourself.
I've got a couple, been doing egay since 98, it happens.

And yes if it's that big of a deal to wait, you can just find the exact time frame and then leave feedback.
 
I feel like I should leave neg feedback. It lets the rest of the ppl on eBay what the deal is w/this bidder. I just wanna time it right to minimize my exposure to getting some.
 
I have left feedback to people and have never gotten retaliatory, for other things because they're dumbasses but not retalitory
 
There is no point to giving bidders negative feedback (unless it will bring then to a net of -4). First, there is the possibility of retailatory negative. Even if you wait until the 90th day, Ebay says you can leave feedback on transactions at least up to 90 days. It could be 90 days, 91 or 95 days or until they sweep the transactions. So, the bidders can still give you a unjust negative which hurts you the seller much more than it hurts a bidder because a bidder can bid (i.e. BIN) no matter what if he wants to as Ebay does not have a filter system. A seller would have that negative for people to see.
There is also a philosophical argument against a seller leaving feedback but I will not go there.

The most important thing a seller can do to deadbeats is to file a NPB report. Three of these and the ebayer is kicked off ebay. That does not mean he cannot come back under a different form but at least i is easier to get three Non-Paying Bidder marks then -4 net feedback.
 
You won't get booted for having negative evals. Or maybe you can?

You will get booted for having non paying bidder requests files against you. If you have three of them filed you get the boot.

No, four negative feedbacks will NOT get you the boot.
If you look at the powersellers or the bad bidders, they can have hundreds or thousands of negatives. Your total amount of feedback (positives minus the negatives) has to be above a net of -4.
For example, you can have 100 positive and 103 negative feedbacks and still be in good standing as long as you don't have 3 NPBs notices.
Even at a net of -4 feedback, it would take someone reporting you for Ebay to boot you. Their feedback system is a lamer.
 
No point in leaving feedback to a scam artist either. They just sign up for new accounts, bid on a bunch of auctions in one or two days, then ditch the account, creating a new one and start the cycle over again. Ebay supports fraud by letting these losers sign up.

I have 2 high bidders telling me that same story. One of the is making good though.

I am selling South Park stuff, so I guess that it could be true.
 
Leave the feedback you want.

The system should work like it is designed to work. If you get retaliatory feedback - it doesn't matter. People will understand that it is just that - retaliatory; and it does not reflect the real you.

In the end, feedback matters little in terms of results to sell. As long as you are generally a good seller, one or two negatives that aren't even substantial will mean nothing.

I don't know if you have time to file your non-paying bidder request form even... I thought there was a time limit on that. You should do that, since there is a 10 day grace period after filing. Leave your feedback, get on with life.

It depends also on how much feedback the other person has too. If they're just deadbeats then that will work - if they have the same if not better feedback, it's their feedback vs yours - you may end up being the one looking like the a-hole, even though you did nothing wrong.
