for virtual sales you're screwed. I'd suggest to anyone that sells online gaming stuff such as accounts, if you accept paypal require a valid verifiable phone number that you can call and speak to the person, and SHIP them TRACKABLE account information. If they put lots of pressure on you to do otherwise, you're being scammed. Tell them it's your way or the highway

also, try to get your account back from blizzard.

he should be able to, if he can provide the original registration key along with maybe the credit card he used

I can't close the account now, its 2am in the morning. That said, collection agency? I am somewhere in SE Asia, i dont think they'll get me?

NOTE: You will have to manually copy and paste the links into your browser and angelfire doesnt allow direct links

I dunno if this links will work, I am not well versed in XML format, if anyone can teach me how to host the XML log up properly I'd be more than glad to do it.

Damnit, I should have seen the warning signs...

I don't know how it works in Asia, but here in the States, they get a collection agency to send you a bill in the mail. If you don't pay they put it on your credit report.

Well, you won't be able to close your paypal account with a negative balance.

If you don't want to get your account out of the red, your only option is to simply stop using PayPal, probably forever....

PayPal is useless, if you don't have a DC number that shows they recieved the item, then you are automatically guilty. Reciepts, emails, im logs mean jack chit to them.
What is a DC number?

They did the same frickin thing to me last month. It was a total headache, paypal's customer service is useless so don't bother calling.

Paypal will automatically refund him a portion of the final cost. You will long into your account and find that your account is frozen because of the charge back. You will have a negative balance. In order to unfreeze your account you will have to add funds through the bank account to give you positive funds. Once you have a positive balance, you will have to manually give a refund for the remaining amount. This whole process takes about 3.5 weeks before you account will be unfrozen.

You could just close your bank account and not use paypal anymore, just note that they will refer you to a collection agency and if you try opening another paypal account it will quickly be frozen as well.

Same thing happend to me when I was selling stuff from EQ1. As stated in the quote, dont bother canceling your checking acct, paypal wont attempt to charge it. They will just give you a ( - ) balance and turn you in to collections.

Edit - And definately try and get your acct back from blizzard, that should be doable if you have the original CD# and CC

Actually, DC doesn't matter. Even Signature Confirmation means jack sh1t if the buyer does a chargeback (not a SPP claim, but a CC chargeback).

When will you people learn?

Here in NY, I tried filing a claim with local police. They said they don't investigate fraud under $2,000 unless they get several complaints about the same person.

I am SOL for $300+

it does for the fact you are covered by the paypal seller protection policy. with a chargeback Paypal actually will try and fight it, because if they lose they get stuck with a fee from VISA/MC.

Ok, lets look at the damage report so far

Paypal account frozen ( Do I care? I'll never use PP again) - So thats not too bad
Account balance at -$207 (Withdrew everything from my account, they cant charge my debit card) - Not too bad.
WoW account email changed and I cant get back account (Thats ok with me, as far as I am concerned, I sold the account and I have cold hard cash with me)

So basically, I should just cancel my Paypal accounts, my card accounts to get over this?

Will my ebay accounts be affected?

The reason why I am so uptight about this chargeback is that I'm going to Toronto and NYC next week, so pretty much on a very tight budget.

fbrdphreak, you read the convos? What do you think?

if you wanna get even tell Blizzard the account was sold by you, hehe. that's a violation of the WoW's TOC, and they will probably terminate that account

That is a good idea, I will try to get it back, and if it doesnt work, send the logs and emails to blizzard along with the ebay ID.
