EBay cash rebate thing

MichaelD

Lifer
OK, I see everyone getting big-bucks discounts on things bought off EBay. From what I understand, it only applies to Buy It Now items. Is that correct?

OK, assuming it is correct, I buy something for $500 and pay for it immediately. What do I have to do in order to get the cash back? Pay with an EBay credit card? Sign up for one? What are all the catches? Thanks for your help. 🙂

No idea/never heard of this. I'm sure any money you would save on it is counteracted with ebay/paypal sucking ass though.

25% off is a LOT for big ticket items.

@ ric1287: Is it really a 1.5 month wait? I thought it was instant money off/discount. Shit...that money may NEVER come

@Ocguy31: Thanks, I will do that.

read the threads in hot deals, FW, or slickdeals

the first step is following a 25% cashback link from search.live.com
search for something like wii or cheap wii and you should see one.

the cashback amount shows as pending in your cashback account within a day or two, but it's 60 days before you can cashout. and once you request the cashout via paypal, it takes another week or two. people have already gotten lots of money back, so it's not a scam as long as you follow the rules.

yeah it's real, a warning though, they are starting to cancel cashbacks for gift cards, gold bullion, etc. And they can cancel something that they think that you are going to resell. So make sure you order a large variable of items and don't order something that has a obvious face value (such as One Hundred Dollar Bills x 6), you should be fine.

It's 60 days, not 1.5 months.

i just did this the other week with 2 HD4850 video cards.
It's through Microsoft and Ebay.

It's "buy it now" only purchases. It also appears to only work with auctions that have shipping costs too.

it's pretty simple.

i started using cashback in june, and have already gotten my money, so i know it works. i spent way too much when it was @ 30% last couple weeks -_-

ProTip:

Thanks for the tutorial.🙂

Thanks to all for the help. @Sabot: LOL! 😀 I have never changed my avatar...it's just me...I always look like that...minus the blood. Usually.

Buy something, wait months, claim reward, email microsoft 6 times over the next 2 months, finally get your cash back.

damn people are stupid.

I thought it was pretty simple and clear...got my cashback two weeks ago. I made two purchases.

It must be great being better than everyone else. I'd imagine you hang your own shit by a string from the ceiling and smell it every time you walk by, right?

Hmm no...MANY people have been successful in this EASY process for months now...

I was really skeptical when the deal first came out at 35%. My friend, who is a lawyer and read all the fine print, seemed to think the deal was valid. Bought 3 laptops, resold 2 and got enough cashback to pay for the third. I jumped in on some purchases from a well known web vendor who I already trust and had an ebay store. I got back about $150 (30% at the time) with no problems. I'm about to use it again to get 20% cashback from the HP web site for a new laptop. (It's not just Ebay, the live cashback is offered for many vendors, even giants like HP)

The MS cashback deal is incredible if you use it right, which is not hard to do. I still don't understand how MS finds this to be financially sound advertisement but that's a different topic. For now, it's like free money back on stuff I would buy anyways.

Sign up for a Live.com cashback account beforehand. I don't know if that's a requirement but I did it that way.

Use Live.com, search for cheap ipod or whatever search term they're using now, Ebay will come up as one of the first sponsored links. Click through to Ebay, and you'll see the cashback logo up there at the top of the screen somewhere. Go ahead and search ebay for what you really want. The cashback logo should stay there.

Bid on a BIN auction, pay with paypal, and you should see that the purchase is eligible for cashback at the bottom of the screen at some point during the checkout process.

It's a sweet deal, with the 30% off I got a brand new 120GB Zune for $175 shipped.

I bought a nuvi 760, treestand, trolling motor, gold chain for the wife, echo backpack blower, and an echo pas system with attachments so far. I've recieved cashback for the first 3 items already, just waiting on the last 3, got another 50 days.
