Ebay Boycott status?

Hey, can we start bidding on auctions on ebay or are we still in boycott? Can anyone update me on the status of their fees? Were they pressured to change their fees or what?

Until Google starts an auction site, eBay won't buckle under any pressure to reduce fees.

I think the boycott ended earlier this week (monday)? Ebay basically didn't give a crap.

Why should they? For every person that was boycotting I'm sure there were about 1000 still using the site.

Do you guys still use ebay to sell? I hate how they think that what we sell is basically "free money" to us like in a garage sale. But some people use it for profit.

Everybody? I believe the last report was that in the past week (last week) eBay had seen about an 18% drop in new listings for the week. I seriously doubt that only 1180 people use eBay every week.

In protest, I'm gong to buy my softball bat from overstock 🙂

The boycott did absolutely nothing, there were actually more active listings during the boycott then there were during the first two weeks of February:

Note that there was a listing sale on Feb 13, which is why the # of listings jumped, but the large majority of those died off on or before Feb 20 (7-day listings), and the very last of them finished on Feb 23. There were still more listings during Feb 24 and 25 then there were before the listing sale.

If they could find a good way to limit it to individuals and exclude merchants and it would likely succeed.
