Ebay bidding help........

Here's what happened: not using any app, just using firefox on my android, I clicked place bid when there was approx. 1 min left to the auction. I entered my max bid and watched the countdown until 7 sec left. When I pressed confirm bid, I got an error like your session has expired please try again. By that time it was too late and I lost a very good item.

Why did this happen. Are you telling me ebay has revised their bid window to time out? Or is this a mobile browser issue?

When I typically bid on something important, I use my pc dual monitors, I open the auction with IE 11, and view it, to be able to see the #of bidders, the price, and the time left. I then open the bid confirmation window on the other monitor in firefox, so it is ready to go. I then enter my max bid with only 7-10 sec left, and if I get it great, if not at least I tried my best without using snipe software / apps that may or may not work. Over the years this has worked great for me. I get to see live what the last price was so I can one up the last bidder. And honestly even though ebay puts the time left in the bid confirmation window, it does lag behind a bit at times when compared to the actual auction screen. I even go as far as refreshing the tab to make 100% sure I see the most up to date info.
