eBay auction and shipping question

So, I was selling my Delll D600 on eBay, and some member who joined today and so has 0 feedback bought it using Buy It Now. He sent me an e-mail asking me to send it to the Netherlands, and that he would send me a shipping label for it and pay me via Western Union.

Now, I said in my auction that it would be US only, but he seems not to have read that.

My question is this: is there a chance that the money order he sends me (and he will send me a money order; I won't accept anything else) could be bad? I know it's not likely, but is it something I should be worried about?

Hell, I have no real problem shipping internationally if he send the money first, but the e-mail he sent me was in all caps, and he just joined today, which throws up a warning sign, so I'd rather cover all my bases before getting into it with this guy.

It is my understanding that Western Union is a no-no. He will get your goods and then you will find out the money order was stolen or cancelled.

I vote to not do business with the dude from the Netherlands.

When I was selling my lappy, a guy also wanted to pay with western union and wanted me to ship to Africa. I received an email from something like "bidpay@nyc.com". The bidpay part was correct but I highly doubted the @nyc.com part. So I called up western union and they said that it was a fake email. You'll probably get something like this.

Gotcha. I wasn't sure if there was a way to scam with a money order, but it appears there is, so he's history. Thank, guys.

If he's paying via BidPay, he can go straight to hell.

If it's an actual WU money transfer, the money's their (WU's) fault as soon as it enters the transaction. Money transfer scams are usually done from the seller side.

with a 0 feedback, hell no. with 25-50 feedback, maybe. but also look at what kind of feedback it is, like is it 1cent, 99cent to boost up rating or not... tricky little devil, thieves do anything to steal on ebay.

If you have to ask, you are dumber than your 2k+ posts would indicate. Oh wait...

Actually, as a seller, accepting Western Union is probably one of the safest ways of payment. Once WU has it and you get it from them, there is no turning back, which is why it is the preferred method for sellers who are going to scam the bidders.
