IMO, the seller should be responsible for giving a proper quote. But hey...if you have no actual recourse, just suck it up and pay.

I may be willing to pay the correct shipping cost but he is trying to get more money out of me. I already paid 139 bucks for shipping and the seller got a quote for 230 for shipping and is asking that much on top of what i orginally paid. So im payhing a total of 369 for shipping!!
The seller is obviously trying to get more money for the auction itself

That doesn't make any sense. Did you point that out? Looks like you're just going to have to walk away from this one.

He did not reply back but I asked him first to complete the transaction or I will have to notify ebay and it loosk like I will notify paypal as well. If he does not go through with what he says I wil post the auction and emails on here and all the major mustang forums.

Asking me for more money to cover the actual shipping does not piss me off. The fact that he asking for more money on top of the shipping cost is what gets me.

It's still unclear, even to you it seems, if he is intentially asking for $230 more or just pointed out the total of $230 and forgot to factor in what you already paid.

The seller specifially ask for 230 more. Here is copy/paste of the email

"I just came from the USPS and it cost $230 to package it and send it. I bought it two months ago for $650 and I do not want to loose it for nothing. So, if you want to pay me more $230 or I will refund you the money. I will be post it again with correct pricing. Thanks and I will be waiting for your response. Thanks"

I may walk away but I will not go away without a fight. I can't stand dishonest sellers/traders. I don't really care for ebay feedback since most deals are done through the fourms or on craigslist.

He isn't the best with English, so I still wouldn't assume at this point. He paid $650, or so he says, what was the buy it now?

You shouldn't have to do anything. I mean even if he made a mistake, he has to eat the cost. Sellers make "mistakes" on my auctions all the time, charging $20 to ship a pair of shoes that should cost $10 to ship.

If you don't plan on going through with the transaction, file a Seller Non-Performance complaint.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html

I would leave a negative as well, even if it means I would get a retaliatory negative. If/when he gives you the retaliatory negative, simply explain that the seller wouldn't comply with the sale he agreed to when you won the auction.

It's sellers like these that make me glad I have two eBay accounts (one for buying, one for selling).

Buy it now was put a 39.99. Which is a steal to say the least. But even the price tag of 650 is inflated and wrong. The retail price is $450 no tax and about 50 dollar shipping fee if you order direct and a waived shipping fee if you order through a reseller/shop. Given the price of 450 it makes more sense why he would want an extra $230 dollars because it would make the new total $409 dollars.

If the seller said outright that he made a typo error I would have forgiven that What i do not forgive is lying.

Ah, I see the problem now. I can't tell if you're more angry at the fact that you arn't going to be getting a steal of a deal or that the buyer is potentially trying to jip you. I would guess the former, but I don't really know.

I would try to work it out personally. $270 is better than $400. I would push for the extra $91 explaining you know he made a mistake with the buy it now price, yet without him working it out with you, you will have to report to ebay, paypal, and give him a negative. He might just do it for the $270. Again, I don't know.

Im am very disappointed that I may not be getting this, but I am pissed that seller has to be deceitful and try to squeese more money out of me when the seller already took my payment and said he would ship the product out. I

What I don't undestand is why he would ask for more money when the seller already said he would ship on the product then ask for more than shipping cost? I know you asked this but it from the sellers email it really does sound like they want $230 on top of the orginial price.

I will ask the seller to complete the transaction first and I will try to work things out before I go to ebay, paypal, and other possible means if no resolution is made by the seller.

Maybe there is a shop owner out of the picture who is supplying the parts. The shop owner doesn't know ebay and the ebayer doesn't know parts. I can see that conversation go down.

"Sold the X for you.."
"Nice, how much did you get for it?"
"$40"

Swift kick to the balls is incurred.

If it were me, I'd get my money back ASAP. If you try to fight it, he may become a troll and keep your money for himself. After he refunds your money, file a complaint with ebay and leave a negative.

If the seller does not give me my money back I will contact a lawyer who also happens to be me a close family member.

I'm really starting to think he is a very young person because of their grammer. I have horrible grammer and can't type worth my life with my chubby fingers....but the seller is far worse than I.

Maybe the seller doesn't know how to ship stuff cheaply? If he's stumbling into Fedex holding an enormous heavy box, I can see how the costs might be higher than he anticipated...

Find out the box weight/dimensions, suggest some cheaper freight options to the seller. If that fails, and if the additional $91 seems reasonable to you, just pay it. It's still much cheaper than retail, yes?

Under no circumstances should you pay an extra $230, though...I don't read his email that way, and it wouldn't make sense.

And don't threaten until it's clear that you have no other recourse...right now he seems willing to work with you. If you start threatening, he might decide to cut his losses, dump his paypal account into a bank account, unlink it, and sever all contact with you. Right now he's holding the cards, so he makes the rules.

Things like this are EXACTLY why I have never bought anything on EBAY. People have asked me several times why I don't use EBAY, and I tell them because it's crap like this that makes it just not worth the hassle to me.
