1. I win auction through buy it now and instant pay
2. I paid seller and paypal says the transaction was completed
3. Seller saids me two emails
email #1: states he will ship the product by tomorrow
email #2: states that the shipping cost will be more than what he listed and is asking for more money or else he will relist with the "right" price and refund me.
4. My reply: I asked him to complete the transaction or I will have to contact ebay

What I think happend is that he put the buy it now price at a below market value and did not realize this until after I won and paid and probably wants to get more money out of the deal. I was reading ebay to see what I can do and so far I found "reporting a non-seller seller" Anyone else have any experience with this?

Does he specify that buyer pays actual shipping or does he offer a flat rate?

What if he just made a mistake on shipping? Tell him to ship it and email you a scan of the shipping receipt and you will then pay more.

that would be the most sensible thing to do.

His fault, he is bound to sell. However, he could back out and suffer no more than a neg feedback, no big deal for him. Ebay will not help you on this (or much of anything)

Seller speceifes the shipping cost. He is asking for more money which is stupid because the amount he is asking + the intail amont I paid = almost equals what a new one will cost

I'm basically paying 139 bucks on shipping for a car part. He is asking for 230 bucks more because he says shipping will cost that much. I highly dobut it will cost 230 bucks. I've shipped a whole body kit to the east coast for less.

Want to be a real dick?

File a complaint with Paypal. It'll lock up his Paypal account for anywhere from a few days to almost a month, so he'll have to open up a new Paypal account or wait until it's settled.

IMO, the seller should be responsible for giving a proper quote. But hey...if you have no actual recourse, just suck it up and pay.

So call him on it. Look at your options and pick your battles. Ebay isn't going to do anything. They can't make him sell it to you. You still need the part? The cost of the part is under market value as you stated in the OP. You can give him a negative in which he will probably do the same for you.

So in the end, your out the part you still need, have a negative now, and you've wasted 2 weeks. Now, if he can proove he is actually spending the extra on shipping, he isn't trying to rip you off...no big deal.

Tell him to ship it, give you proof of the extra cost, you you'll reinburse him.

I may be willing to pay the correct shipping cost but he is trying to get more money out of me. I already paid 139 bucks for shipping and the seller got a quote for 230 for shipping and is asking that much on top of what i orginally paid. So im payhing a total of 369 for shipping!!
The seller is obviously trying to get more money for the auction itself

Of course, but it doesn't always work out that way. The OP has a right to be upset about the situation, but if the seller can prove the extra cost, I think it's the best solution.

That doesn't make any sense. Did you point that out? Looks like you're just going to have to walk away from this one.

did you ask him what he'll do if he just ships you and you'll pay the actual costs?

Maybe he made a mistake not factoring in the $139 you already paid for shipping. If the shipping cost is really $230 and you would be fine with paying that, then tell him you'll give him the extra $91.

I would say get your money back while you can. Granted he is not being right but if you be a dick like he is he already has your money and can end up being a bigger dick making you jump hoops to get it back and slim chance you wont ever get it back. So suck it up as experance learned and get the money back asap and find the part elsewhere if you can.

Right now all the balls are in his corner to make this harder for you. Hes offering to refund, take it.

Tell him you have a cousin that lives 10 mins from him and he's offered to pick it up. See what he says then.

He did not reply back but I asked him first to complete the transaction or I will have to notify ebay and it loosk like I will notify paypal as well. If he does not go through with what he says I wil post the auction and emails on here and all the major mustang forums.

Asking me for more money to cover the actual shipping does not piss me off. The fact that he asking for more money on top of the shipping cost is what gets me.

It's still unclear, even to you it seems, if he is intentially asking for $230 more or just pointed out the total of $230 and forgot to factor in what you already paid.
