Just to clarify, I think he should take whatever steps are available to pressure the seller into completing the transaction.
If he leaves a neg though all that will happen is he will be negged back which will ruin his account. I would never allow someone whose only feedback is a negative bid on one of my auctions.
On the other hand if he negs the seller it won't do any good. The seller will reply to the neg with a BS excuse and anyone that reads it will see a neg that was left by a nobody with no feedback and a reasonable sounding excuse by a "well established" power seller.
Who would you believe?
Wait, he has no feedback? Definitely leave a negative, start another account, move on.
