Anyone here tried installing it yet? I am running Linux Mandrake on my workstation, so the standard installer will not work on it.

If you have installed it, what do you think? Thumbs up or down?

It is VERY cool. BUT >>> It is still linux, therefore it is not an end-user OS, and it takes an incredible amount of fiddling for app installation, and the like.

I recommend the new windows OS. By far the nicest, smoothest operating system around. OS X just flat out is too slow.

I should think Thumbs up. Haven't yet tried it myself, but saw it on a friend's laptop. He runs debian. Neat stuff.

I'm going to try it next week (Spring break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). At the moment I've got programming assignments due so I can't afford to try something that might bring my Linux setup down. The screenshots look nice though.

I may have put in a wrong setting on my Mandrake 8 install. URLS beginning with "eazel://" don't work. (Yes, I realize that I am using beta software as it is.) Looks very nice tho.

So, SUOrangeman - you've gotten Eazel to install on Mandrake? I have 7.2, but it does not seem to want to work on it. What strange magic have you worked to get it to install on you Linux box?

Actually I think Eazel uses the Sawfish Windows manager. AFAIK the official term is that eazel is a "desktop environment". 🙂

Eazel came with the Mandrake 8 beta. Well, Nautilis did. I'm stll trying to figure out the connections between the programs.
