Shes from Zaporojie? That's pretty cool. Famous cossacks have come from there. Your g/f is a true cossack! My dad's parents were ukrainian immigrants, so i'm half ukrainian (american born). He made me watch Taras Bulba (not bad for an old movie) when I was young. Cossacks are cool. Fight, drink, make love, live as free men, repeat. They had american ideals (freedom, treat every man like a king) before america ever existed. It's terrible what Stalin did to the ukraninans, just as bad if not worse that what Hitler did to the jews, something like 3 million dead. But of course, we don't learn about that, but we learn so much about the holocaust in school.

Pretty cool tkotitan2...not many people know this...I was happily surprised to see someone post this here. I am all Ukrainian from both of my parents (second generation born in US). My grandparents and great-grandparents came here after the war...they had some pretty terrifying stories...
