My local Ikea (Paramus) has an evening special family plan, two adults and a bunch of kid meals, for a low amount. They keep changing the prices, but it's always a deal.

Also, you don't have to be a kid to get a kids meal.

Absolutely agree.

$6 for dinner can be a lot. I had a friend who, along with his gf (now wife), were on Oodles of Noodles for probably half the days in a month because they were so poor. Both went to college and along with rent and stuff, they just didn't have any money. Starving students.

Hmm I'm surprised that everyone is so enthusiastic...I've been to both a Long Island location (which was small and didn't have much stuff but the hot dog was good!) and also the Elizabeth, NJ location (which was bigger) and I wasn't that impressed with the food.

Plus both places had the hot dog/cinammon bun place separate from the other food place...and in Elizabeth they put the hot dogs by the exit! I kept looking for them but couldn't find them (cuz at the LI one the hot dogs were close to the other foods) so I caved and spent a lot of money on "real" food. And then I'm checking out and I see the hot dogs and I'm all annoyed.

At least at the Long Island one I actually thought their hot dogs tasted like cheap versions of Nathan's dogs...which is great! Better than the Costco's and Sam's Club ones imho. Except in Elizabeth that one wasn't as good but that was partly because my roommate got it for me while I was waiting on line and he put condiments I didn't like. And also partly because it wasn't as piping hot.

Anyways, I kinda felt ripped off by the swedish meatballs...mostly because I feel like the portions are so tiny! Of course I'm also a fat ass American so that might be part of the problem lol.

Dude, I think you are referring to the Bistro and not the restraunt. The Bistro is where you get hotdogs, ice cream and coffee. The restaurant is where you get the meals like the meatballs.

I'm surprised that people haven't heard about this before. I've been eating at Ikea for years. The restaurants in Europe Ikeas are more impressive. Same quality and kind of food but the places are much much bigger and the servers are much much hotter.

Yes you can get the budget breakfast for 99 cents or pay $1.99 to get the complete breakfast with coffee and pancakes.

Keep your eye out for specials. The local one had free meatball specials with coupon. And they were handing out the coupons left and right. This was a full 20 ball deal. I loaded up the fridge with them a take container at a time.

The new IKEA near my house is built like a huge 2 story maze with their own parking structure. Once you're in, you can't get out the same way. You have to walk a mile thru their maze before you reach the cashier/exit. The cafeteria is somewhere in the middle. I think their marketing guys are working over time with the architects.

Yeah they are. At the store near me, the cafeteria is upstairs between the entrance and the stairs going downstairs, so you can grab something to eat right away or you can grab something after you walk a mile and you're wasted :) Then they put more stuff after you check out...50 cents for a hot dog is always too tempting to pass up :D

What? I never knew they had a $1.99 breakfast also. Pancakes, mmmmm.

Also had no idea that they give you $10 in free food with a $100 purchase. I will have to remember that the next time I go buy some stuff.

After spending 100$ you can eat for free?? I wish I knew about that earlier :(

Is that for all locations? (atlanta here).

Definetly love the hot dogs, althought I must say that costco/sams and QT are my all-time favorites.

If you sneak outside the deli in the Ikea in Newark it looks out over the runway at the airport. Great place to watch the planes land upclose.
