Eating alone?

Uh, I assume you mean eating alone at a restaurant or something?
Because if you mean eating alone in any situation I expect many people do it fairly frequently.

I've done it when on the road. Nothing wrong with it. I wouldn't go anywhere fancy but not because I'd be self-conscious, but because it hardly seems worthwhile to spend so much money to eat alone.

I don't really care for eating alone in a restaurant. But when traveling for work that's the way it goes sometimes.

I've had some luck with restaurants delivering to the hotel room (Applebee's, Outback) depending on the location, and if that's available I usually do that.

If you can do it on business, you can do it when your home. Try sitting at the bar (f they have one) to order if you're uncomfortable, you'll always have other people around you to talk to.

It is weird, when I am on the road, I have no problem. But at home, I never do, I feel out of place.

I used to travel a lot for work, and I could never bring myself to eat at a restaurant alone. Instead I tortured myself by eating crappy fastfood in my hotel room....

I once sat at the bar portion of a restaurant while waiting for a flight. They were like, "Sir, you have to be over 21 to sit here"

I think in about a dozen years I'll appreciate looking several years younger than I am...

I travel frequently and if I'm not having dinner with co-workers I'lleat by myself at a restaurant. What's the problem?

I do it all the time. I travel for work and, honestly, at the end of the day the last people I want to see for another couple hours are my co-workers. It's very nice to have some time to myself after 10-12 hours in a cube at the client site.

I've done it when traveling for work. At casual places it's not a problem at all and doesn't bother me. One time though I was in Dallas and was in the mood for a steak. Somehow I ended up at this super fancy steakhouse, and I knew when I sat down I was making a mistake. The entire place was full of couples or small groups of couples. Then there's me. I did have a hell of a steak that the company paid for though.

when I worked at a fairly upscale resturant in harvard square, I usually treaded carefully around anyone eating by themselves...

Occasionally. It's either eat alone at a restaurant or eat alone at home.

I'll eat alone at a fast food restaurant, but not a real restaurant.

I do it every now and then when I have to go to a remote office. Last time I sat at the bar in Chili's and ate a steak while watching ESPN.

I don't have a problem eating at fast food restaurants by myself but I don't like eating at regular restaurants alone. When I'm traveling for work I usually get to go orders from places for dinner.

I won't go to a restaurant or movie theater by myself. Just won't. Not sure why. When travelling for work alone, I'll get fast food or pizza. My last trip was 2 months. Fortunately, I had a furnished apartment, so I cooked every night. Saved a bunch of money doing that, too. I still got paid the per diem rate for meals.

have to do it when on business travel

on big cities i find ways to hook up with people

on smaller cities i just have to suck it up and go by myself

since i am more particular of eating good food, then being "judged" in public, ill go to a "real" restaurant by myself. fck eating fast food for dinner. half of the time though ill do take-out so i can chill in my hotel room in my underwear
