eating chicken is not the problem. the immorality lies in the cruel mass harvesting methods employed by corporations like KFC.

if you raise chickens in your back yard, then humanely sacfrifice them (e.g., by quickly severing their heads) then fine. They might even be a healthy food to eat.

eh, I'd rather not pay 20 dollars for a drumstick.

you don't need to be eating as much meat as you do, anyway. increased cost for meat products would be a health boon for your nation of obese people

Granted it does use more resources to raise animals for food than veggies but eating meat is not the cause of obesity here. If anything it is vegetable based products...........

amazing the difference in opinon of treatment of dogs vs treatment of other animals.

The moral question at the heart of all this is: is it wrong to inflict extended suffering on a non-human animal which is capable of experiencing pain and pleasure, feelings/ emotions, complex social relationships, etc.

this is the issue that many meat eaters are too defensive to think about. they are defensive, and get angry, because they know what they are doing is wrong 😛

That site is completely biased. Show me visual proof, in a completely uncut video of the food processing. I think the process and numerical figures are highly overdone. ( Ha overdone 😛)

Sorry, but if you eat commercially farmed/ prepared chicken then you are a disgrace to humanity imo. 😛

Sorry, but if you are a man who engages in buttsex with other men you are a disgrace to humanity imo.

Ok, now we both have our opinions....what should we do about it?

Why do people in the industry call starving birds forced molting? Isn't molting when they shed their feathers?

it is "double talk" (propaganda technique) to make a cruel and morally outrageous practice seem harmless and normal.

In order to feed the billions in the world now without everyone being farmers such things are probably needed.

How else do you think the U.S. agricultural community should feed 300 million people?

yup

EDIT: I'm gonna eat some chicken asap.

soya beans and plankton!
My ancestors did NOT work to get to the top of the food chain so that I could choke down plankton.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some veal in the oven.

Do you have the power to stop hundreds of millions of people from eating to live? When you end up at the top of the food chain, choices are yours. I used to farm chickens in my back yard for the eggs, and a racoon managed to kill and mame several of them much less humanely than a chicken farm would have before I killed it, because evolution happened to put the racoon above the birds. Who are you to argue with the culmination of millions of years of ecology? Peta dribble swallowing fool.

We'll I think most people consider humans special on this planet because we dont have to blindly follow what instict through evolution has honed in us. The fact that people choose to eat food made through this process is a rather embarrising example that we will never be above what we have evolved too, and id rather atleast try to be something more.

actually I grew up on a beef cattle farm. we also had chickens, geese, sheep. I know that it is possible to raise and treat animals decently and without cruelty.
