Hello everybody,

I have a motherboard with APU : GA-F2A75M-HD2 + AMD A10 A6700 + 8GB.
Os running is w7-64.
I downloaded and installed the latest easytune 6 (Just to see the temperature) but the program will not start.
I have also updated the bios to revision F4.

Does anybody have an idea how to get easytune 6 running ?

Does it give you an error? I have never had an issue running EasyTune, but I don't use it very much. Better stuff out there, IMO.

I use CPUID Hardware Monitor for temps. Give a lot more info, and all on one page.

Are you currently overclocked? EasyTune will allow you to overclock from within the OS, so it may have a fit if you try to start it when you are already overclocked.

Easytune does not produce an error. It is just not starting.
I do get the UAC dialog window that easytune is started.

I am not overclocking although the AMD turbo core option is enabled in the bios.
I think that when needed and possible, the cpu core of the APU will overclock to 4,3GHz on it's own.
However, i am still running with the stock AMD cooler. And to make sure everything stays cool, i keep the pwm setting at 2,5 pwm/C setting.
I can hear this because the pwm spins up and down all the time.
Next week i will receive a Scythe shuriken REVB cooler for FM2. That should keep my APU cool and happy.

I will try that program you mentioned. I have tried several programs and all give me strange temp readouts such as 7 degrees celcius. Other programs seem to contain adware so i have not tried those...

HWmonitor seems to work. It reads all temperatures in the Temperatures section. Although it says [TRIAL] at the apu section, the temperatures section give some idea.

Does EasyTune start when Windows starts? I found that if I do not let it start with Windows, I have to start it twice, once from the desktop icon, and then again from the taskbar icon, although I am pretty sure I haven't tried the latest version, which may operate differently.

If you go here
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html#directiontouse
and don't download the PRO version (download from one of the versions under "Download Latest Release") you shouldn't see anything about "Trial." I downloaded the latest version just now (1.23) and did not see this message.

That new cooler looks great. It will be nice to see temps before and after. What temps is your chip showing now?

Well, what do you know... Golly(Goofy style)...

I am still getting tricked by the new taskbar.
There is indeed an easytune icon but it was hidden.
When i press the button in the taskbar, it starts.
Reconfigured that the icon always is visible and it works of course.

I am still a newbie for windows 7.

Thank you.

I tried the non install zip file 1.17 HWmonitor pro x64.
The temperature is 32 degrees Celcius of TEMPIN0.
x32 version also has [TRIAL] messages.

Easytune 6 displays a 0,852V core voltage.
And a temperature of 30 degrees Celcius.

The non install 1.23 displays : 0,852V @ 32 degrees celcius.
And no [TRIAL] messages.

NP, glad it's working. Anything in the latest Easytune that is pretty cool?

After watching a dvd video using VLC (GPU hardware acceleration enabled), the CPU temperature is ~57 degrees celcius.
The HD8670 is at 7 degrees celcius. Which is amazing, an program interpretation fault or AMD added a small Peltier element on the APU as well.

I seem to be able to change everything on the fly with easy tune.
But i do not feel safe about it yet to use it.

I am still trying to figure out why my memory will not run at 1833 MHz while it is rated at that speed. When i set it to auto, the bios defaults to 1600MHz.
I will have to dig into the settings and change the timings myself. The SPD timings do not seem to help because the bios starts in safe mode when i set the Memory timing at 1833MHz.

Anyway, thank you for your help.

We have had a couple discussions about this in the past (a couple months ago, so not that long ago). I think we came to the conclusion that AMD uses a really strange way of reporting temps on the CPUs. Some software likes it, some doesn't. I think the same probably applies to boards as well.

I agree.
It almost seems as if there are multiple temperature sensors in the apu package. One sensor in the package. One sensor placed central in the CPU section of the APU die. One sensor placed in central of the GPU section of the APU die. Is the A6700 APU made up of multiple dies ?

Temperature with my shiny new shuriken cooler:

Easytune6:
Seems to only offer the package temperature, around 27~33 degrees celcius.

HW monitor :
The CPU temperature is 57~62 degrees celcius.
The TEMP0 is ~33 degrees celcius
The HD 8670D GPU is ~7 degrees celcius.

BIOS health status :
CPU temperature is 42~47 degrees celcius.
