Easy Windows Media Player Problem

Hi I just got a new machine and installed a copy of Windows XP SP2 w/ Windows Media Player 9. When I try to view .wmv files (I really haven't tried anything else sorry) I can sort of make out what's going on it's just that the colors are all messed up (very bright yellows, pinks, blues etc).

What do I have to update/download to fix this?

first of all, get WMP10...second i didnt look, but theres a video colors option, check for a restore defaults button
