Easy way to get Sonata bezel off? (Front connectors 'cave-in')

My Sonata is fine except for one shoddy bit of construction - the front connectors (USB, etc.) aren't locked into place, so when I plug anything in, it slides back about an inch(!) and prevents me from plugging my CF reader in w/o an extention cable. Drag.

I figure I could put something behind it to block it's movement, but I can't get the front bezel off. The left (door) side is fine, but how does the right side get released? I had a similar problem with my SX1030, but I think I could unscrew that one, but this one is welded.

Any hints? Thanks!

I've played with 3 different Sonata cases and 1 had that problem with the front connectors. To take off the front panel, inside the case on far left and far right hand side are 3 hooks on each side. Just release them then you have access back of the front panel.

I've had the same issue with my Sonata case. When I pulled the front bezel off, I could see that Antec had hot glued many of the LED's in place and also the connectors to the front USB module. So I put the USB module back in place, and used a hot glue gun to glue it back into place. Haven't had a problem since. . .Good luck with it.

as I said above, I can get the left side ones fine, but can't really see the right side tabs and with all the stuff I've got in here, taking it apart is really out of the question.

DefRef,

Even with all the stuff I have in mine (5 HDD, 2 CD/DVD +RW, Zip Drive, floppy, etc, I was able to use a long (8-10") screwdriver to push our the clips on the right side and the front bezel came off without a problem. You just need to be careful not to pull our the LEDs from the front panel unelss you intend on hot gluing them back in again.

Thanks for the tips. I'll have to try them next week when I get a chance.

I can see how you get to the right clip on the bottem but how do you get to the middle and upper clips without even remove all the drive?

You'll have to remove the drives to get at the clips. Fortunately I don't have a drive in the top bay. The drive blocking the middle clip is not difficult to take out, and all I did was pull it out far enough to get a screw driver down to the clip, then slid it back in. I didn't even pull the cables from the drive. It really wasn't that much work.

My "front door" is broken where it hinges -- anyone know how to fix it or to get a new door. The cheqapo plastic hinge is broken. I think the door is a POS frankly considering the the price of this case.

I'd call Antec customer service and tell them what happened. They're usually pretty good about that stuff and may send it to you for free. Even if they don't, they can send you a new one for about $6 plus S&H.
