Easy Tune Warning

I just set my first system up and everyting seems to be running smooth and stable. I was in the Easy Tune program that came with my Gigabyte 8PE667 Ultra2 mobo and saw a warning - flashing in green "CPU fan 1150 rpm" then "CPU fan 2000 rpm" changing every couple of seconds.

Is this something I should be worried about or is it normal?

Can't swear to it but I believe the reason it flashes is due to the low RPM detected. Doesn't mean anything is wrong, as long as that is what the fan is supposed to spin at. I get something similar in my BIOS with a fan speed of 1700 RPM. It's just telling you the fan is not spinning very fast. If you had a 40mm blower spinning at that speed you would be in trouble.

I've also seen speed fans change more dramitacilly every few seconds on low RPM fans than on higher RPM fans. I believe it is due to the sensor and the sample rate. Slower rates provide a more corse measurement. Reminds me of a tach on an engine at low idle.

Right now I am showing CPU @ 29C - Sys Bus @145MHz - CPU Fan @ 2250 - Sys Fan @ 1140 and Power Fan @ 1493 - VCore A @ 1.53 - Speed of CPU 2.898MHz.

How does this sound.

Excellent, but are you sure the CPU temp is reading the correct sensor? What are you using to check the temps? If that's your cpu then it's only 84F which is great. Maybe I'm just used to AMD's. :)
