I took the easy year, only taking ~4 classes all year, the rest was study hall, which I went to art class during (to work on my paintings/drawings).

In hindsight, I definitely should have taken more college prep classes. (all the physics, calc, etc. that was available)

ROFL. My senior year of highschool was a joke. (well, even more of a joke than the other years).

I took a few AP classes (chem, physics, english), but thats about it. I was in the gifted program, and our gifted coordinator was awesome. She let us go on any school field trip we felt like.

Needless to say, there was a group of about 5 of us who went on every single school field trip during my senior year. This got us excused from about 3 days of school a week. :D

Also took a class BEFORE homeroom, and played varsity football. At the time, a 12-13 hour school day seemed long. But now, 4 weeks from college graduation, I realize how high school was absolutely no work whatsoever and miss the days of doing maybe 5 mins of work a day. :) Man, I miss HS sometimes ... but most of the time, don't. :) Have a good senior year!

I took an easy course load my Senior year of HS and it was a huge mistake. All it accomplished was making me lazy.

I couldn't tell you the classes I took (1995) but it was definitely the easiest stuff I could get my hands on. I think I started taking Calc and dropped it for some easy Trig class. It was right after lunch and taking Calc after smoking up wasn't going to work so I got my priorities in order. :) Every other class was a joke as well. There was a loophole that if you showed up late after homeroom the attendance info would have already gone out to all the teachers and you would show as out for the day as far as they knew. From there you could pretty much skip the rest of the day.

highchool was a joke, regardless of how hard/easy classes were. i took 3 AP classes my senior year and it was just as easy as my freshman year. in highschool all you had to do was your homework to get good grades.

I took the maximum allowed.

Syracuse University Freshman English 1
Syracuse University Freshman English 2
Community College American Government
Community College Micro Economics
Community College Macro Economics
Biology
Genetics/Physiology
AP Biology (on the side)
AP Calculus
Advanced Physics
AP Physics (on the side)
Spanish III

Also the required Physical Education

I saved about 22k$ in tuition, so it was worth it in my opinion. I never really thought of taking less or easier classes.

Small short term gain and massive long term loss for the win!

1) Highschool is pathetically easy no matter what you take. Even a full highschool schedule is an easy senior year. You might not realize that now, but you will later in life.

2) If you plan to do anything in college think about your college time. If you slack off now, you definately won't be ready when hard work comes your way. I've seen many people unable to cope with college after doing that and drop out.

3) Think about the money. You can (a) slack off now and take all the classes in an expensive college or (b) take all the free classes now and skip them in college. Fewer college classes = a buttload of money saved.

4) Not only do you save money but you have less work in college. Think about it, 4-5 years of your life where you have no parental control, more money, and more time. You'd be an idiot to slack off now and throw that away (where you have no money and are busy taking make up courses you could have done in highschool).

Do the 9 months of a bit more work now and make the 5 years of college your best time of your life.

It makes little sense to take a hard senior year. Instead of taking AP courses do the minimum load at your h.s. and take the general classes at your local community college, not only is it easier, but these credits are often guarenteed to transfer over.

I took an easy senior year... if you lock in early admissions, take the chance to relax before the college grind. just don't take courses that are total jokes. I took courses that I found interesting. random classes that I can remember:

first semester: drawing/composition, catholicism and bioethics, an english course centered around john steinbeck
second semester: painting, the psychology of religion, shakespeare, journalism
