Easy Remote desktop software?

Is there some kind of remote desktop software that works if both parties are behind routers? I have xp pro and my mom has xp. She has a weird router/modem combo that at@t gave her and I cant figure out how to get remote desktop to work the the built in version of windows xp. I've tried everything. Does a third party make a program that is easy to use? I don't mind paying for it. I just need someway I can control her pc for an hour or so to clean it up.

Yeah, but you have to have her install it. Once it's installed it pretty much is a secure tunnel from your computer to hers.

I use UltraVNC at work, works with domain logon. They have an alternative software called PCHelpWare that the end user wouldn't have to configure their router for. However they need to be at the computer to start the executable, and it won't persist through reboot. If you are dealing with someone that can absolutely not configure their router, and you can't readily visit their location, it's worth looking into.

I've used WebEx and NetStreaming at work, they both work pretty well. NetStreaming costs an arm and I'm not sure about WebEx but it is popular.

GoToMyPC works very well behind routers on both ends. But - it ain't free (except for the first 30 days.) Visit gotomypc.com.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned LogMeIn yet.

It makes remote troubleshooting for my prior-generation relatives very easy.
