IE browser cache:
Tools -> Internet Options -> General -> Browsing history -> Settings -> Move folder
Same place to set size, normally 50MB or so is adequate if you have it set to delete temp files when browser is closed (check Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed - under Advanced tab in Internet Options).

TMP/TEMP folder:
System Properties -> Advanced -> Environmental Variables
Edit the TEMP and TMP locations to point them onto the RAMdisk

Windows pagefile:
System Properties -> Advanced -> Performance -> Settings -> Advanced -> Virtual Memory -> Change
Set custom size on the RAMdisk

Photoshop scratch disk:
Don't know how to do this one. I'm sure though you can figure it out by hunting through the menus until you find the system settings.

You can configure the Ramdisk Plus software to back up the contents of the ramdisk onto the storage drive at each shutdown & restore at startup. This isn't really necessary as most of the stuff is single-use items and won't affect anything if they're cleaned out.

Concerning moving games etc onto the Acard ramdisk: just install each one onto the device and then copy it onto your storage drive (drag & drop or copy & paste). Play it from the device, all saves will go onto that drive. When done, back up just your saves from the Acard onto the storage drive. If something happens and the Acard gets wiped you're ok because the games & saves are on your storage drive, just copy them back over. If you want to play something else but don't have room for both games (if you just populated the device with 16GB for example), delete the first game from the Acard (but not from the storage drive) and install the new game on it. Back up the second game onto the storage drive. Now, if you want to play the first game again just delete the second game and transfer the first back onto the Acard. The registry entries point to that drive and won't be changed if you move the game files around.

As I said before, if you had a motherboard with support for 16GB you could potentially do the same thing but without the Acard drive at all (set up a 12GB software RAMdisk to install your games to then just juggle them on and off as needed). The benefit of the Acard is capacity: if you fully populate the 9010 model you've got 64GB to store a lot of games without having to move them around to play.

Also, just a note to address the other issues above: in general this won't improve games hugely but it will dramatically help level loading times and also save/restore times. It will also help with any games that read continuously from the hard drive.

How is it going to make your browsing faster when turning off the PC erases everything in the ramdisk? Isn't your browsing going to become as slow as your internet connection again, since you have to re-cache everything? Not very smart unless you keep your pc on 24/7.

Some people do keep their pc on 24/7 (like me, running F@H).

And if he doesn't, the Ramdisk Plus software has an automatic backup/restore function that can be enabled to maintain the contents of the ramdisk when the system is shut down.

I wouldn't do this.

Edit. Ok no one really hit on it so im goin to ask. What is up with scsi and ultra320 scsi. Im looking at it and it has a transfer rate of about 320 MBs about the same price as the ssd. I could also go with the Ultra640 wich is much much faster. Im just really confused. The way i see it right now it goes in this order

Ultra 640, Ultra 320, SSD, Velo raptor, Sata, Ide drives.

15,000 rpm (scsi, ultra 640 and 320)

10,000 rpm (veloraptor)

7200 Rpm (IDE drives)

SSD dont use rpm.

So if i want fast with a half way resonable cost then I should go with the ultra 320 plus a controller card for it. If anyone has a good website taht shows all the data for the HDD and compares everythign I would love to see it. I couldnt find any that would directly compare all the disk drives.

I am sorry I am being a pain but I just want best of the best. The more reading I do the more I find out. So please anyone that could help me I would appreciate it.

p.s. If the Ultra is teh fastest for the cash then please recommend a fast controller card for a pci slot.

Ok as I look and see drives I will place here. They look like there fast as heck
