...thats screwed on a heatsink? I want to mount a fan on my 7600GS. I've always had the air forced onto the HS, but the ones I've seen seem to pull air off of it...

Isn't there more air movement blowing onto?

if you have a high CFM fan, you can use it to pull air off the heatsink...otherwise I would recommend you blow downwards onto the sink (which is what most coolers use).
 
most fans blow onto the heatsink. Sometimes there is some back pressure so you can feel some air coming off the back of the fan. My X1900XT tho pulles air through the heatsink then out the back instead of blowing directly on the heatsink.
