I just installed ECD Creator 5 Platinum for my Samsung 8x8x32x CD-RW and is it just me or is this the worst program ever imagined. It has almost no configurable options as compared to 4.0, but that is not my biggest concern. I tried burning a divx movie which is huge of course but it says that it needs enough space to buffer it in temporary files. I checked options and I can change the temp forlder but I can't disable it. Limiting the temp size also did not work. When it actualy burns it takes forever as I gues it has to make the buffer and it doesn't even use the buffer as I also tried to do a burn from a network computer and after half an our of copying the file to buffer it instantly gave me a buffer underrun, but actualy worked for 15 minutes or so finalizing the burn before it actualy stoped and gave me the errors. CD creator 4.0 is certenly not the best but it worked normaly on another computer I have, no buffereing no slowdowns, it just burns as instructed even though it can produce underrun errors if the source drive is slow but it is infenetly better then 5.0. Is there a way to fix 5.0 and disable the bffering and get to work normaly? (I tried the last vertion of Nero but it just would not install properly on the system.)

Thanks

I tried the latest vertion of nero but after install, when I try to run it is says that the executable has been modified... ect. and then the program closes. I would love to use Nero. (By the way, Nero 5.5 I believe has a ram buffer. Does it add to the drive buffer and make a great substitute for burnproof as you can have a 59 MB or so buffer?) Can anybody help me fix Nero or Easy Cd creator so I could burn somehing, anything.

Thanks again.

Oooooh boy.

I had a TDK which came with Nero 5.0....I installed it and didn't like it at first, and decided to switch back to EZ CD Creator 4.5. Goohd Lahd, talk about some probs. BSOD. It didn't like having both of them on there.

Next I boot into safe mode, and uninstalled EZ CD 4.5, and installed 5.0 w/o checking the WEB. Of course, 5.0 on Win2k required a patch that I didn't put on so I got BSOD everytime I booted. Re-install.

Now that I have EZ Cd Creator patched it works fine on Win2k. I even installed NERO 5.5 (free update w/ owners of 5.0) and they both work (although I disabled auto-popup when I put an CDR in ).

Don't really have any advice for what to do, and I'm not advocating a reinstall for you either. I did have problems, and a reinstall worked for me...but like the other guy said, you can check your ASPI Drivers.....other than that, I really don't know. :(
