easy answer dvd problem

My lite-on 163 dvd-rom drive was working fine for a while, but now it reads dvds as audio cds. Correction, it reads any cd as an audio cd. Uninstalling the drivers didn't work and the drivers at lite-ons website are dos only. IT was working just a couple days ago. Help, I have a dvd rental due back tomorrow! thanks

just a suggestion, have you tried downlodaing the latest firmware for your DVD drive.

yeah im making a bootdisk for the firmware now, I'll let you know if thats thew prob.
