After having to use Eastore's website for bf2142 + expansion and now Red Alert 3 Uprising, I just have to come and complain with how HORRIBLE the website is, how hard to use it is, how unintuitive it is. Doing the simplest functions requires 10 minutes of trial and error, logging into your account several times when you should already be logged in, etc. Clicking on the "comment on our website" button leads to errors and an error popup. Tryign to find a game I bought so I can download it is something you would think would be really easy, but its not. Its actually pretty damn difficult.

Not to mention, if you buy a game, 6 months down the road its like you never bought it, unless you pay extra for 5 years of downloading. With Blizzard, once you bought it you can download it for life.

I didn't know what all the EA hate was about until recently, their website is the worst piece of trash I have ever come across in over 10 years of using the internet. A group of talented high school students could design a better site and likely do the programming for it. I just wanna grab a foam bat and go completely crazy on everyone who designed that website.

Hahaha, I'm sorry but this is like going to hell and coming back to tell us it is hot.

Sorry you had such a bad experience, but this should be a lesson about EA quality and how much they care about the paying customer.

What a joke! I don't usually like to jump on the "hate bandwagon", but this is rediculous. It is insane that you need to pay extra to be able to download the game at a later time. What a crock.

Just thought I'd follow up, the download manager is almost as frustrating as the website (actually not even close but still bad). It gives errors at random intervals which I have to click past and resume the download. It also stops downloading occasionally and then starts back up. It had been downloading since ~1pm and now, 7 hours later, its around 65% done with 6h30min remaining. I could have downloaded this faster illegally through a private torrent site. Never again EA, never again.

I didn't have any problems with EA download manager with Crysis. The program itself is small and loads up instantly, unlike Steam.

Steam downloads at a solid 700k/s for me, and aside from its initial launch many years ago, hasn't given me any hassles.

I'm not willing to pay $5 USD to download the game I paid for a year from now, but I'd totally pay $5 USD to be able to download it through steam instead of this bullshit.

I can't even go to sleep cus the download has to be babysat. This is the kind of stuff I expected back when I used getright to download 20 meg files on my 28.8 phoneline connection.

I had the opportunity to beta test the EA store in it's earlier form a while back and it was quite horrible. The only cool part about the beta test is they gave us a fake CC to use for buying games during the test. Anything we "bought" during testing we got to keep in our accounts... needless to say I added the extended download to each purchase.

Personally I hate EA. If I'm going to be made to register games online and/or be linked to an online database I much perfer the steam version. Someday down the road when steam has been around for even longer they will have to come up with a good way to organize your available games to download. I have 10+ installed and my list of available is still huge, so many of which I will never download and play.

I used the EA Store, but when it was called EA Link, to buy C&C and the B&W2 expansion. The process was smooth to purchase then, but a pain in the ass to redownload. EA Link had no auto updater, so you had to redownload the client every time an update was released. It was slow, sluggish and a horrible product.

I ended up rebuying C&C3 because it was actually a worthwhile game, but B&W2 expansion, not so much.

Well these "hate bandwagons" dont just form for fun ya know theres usually a good reason behind it.

I guess EA's Q&A department were absent on this website effort too, just like theyre absent with almost every game they develop.

They have a VERY active Q&A department, but they call it "The Marketing Dept.". :p
