earthquakes can develop much deeper than just the crust of the earth's surface, genius...

the earthquake occurs in the earth's crust, not in the ocean

the earth is ~8000 miles diameter? or something like that? the quake happened 212 miles down into the crust, the water doesn't count, unless it was a waterquake, but it says earthquake

what deepest point? when you hit the bottom of the sea? hypocenter can refer to a point inside the earth. so yes, it could be 212 miles. at least thats how i understood it. i'm not an expert. 😛

well at least we know that it is he that is smoking crack... and not the scientists.

It occurred under the surface of the sea floor, not in the water like your crack smoking head imagined. The earth has a diameter of 7,926 miles, 212 miles is barely under the crust.

Hey, it just said an under sea earthquake, not a sub sea surface. 😛 Yes, I know earthquakes are under ground, but they should've probably phrased it differently so the geologically impaired like me understand better. I r smart, ok! 😉
