WTF???

LOL

Dude, preheat the oven to 400 and stick some hamburger patties in there on some tinfoil on a cookie sheet until they're done.

but the real question is: what are you going to do about the bacon? hamburgers have to have bacon.
The same thing that I suggested!

Broiled bacon on a cookie sheet+aluminum foil FOR THE WIN!

damn right

though i usually prefer to grill or, lately sinec i keep forgetting to fix my grill, pan fry my burgers in a cast iron pan.

i do the bacon in the oven though, on a cooling rack set in a cookie sheet.

lol... My mom works for OSU as a home economist & food specialist. She absolutely hates the thought of George Foreman grills, because of the whole cleaning perspective.

My grandma bought her one, just to piss her off, a couple of years ago. 😀

All of mom's coworkers use them, but they're afraid to tell mom that, because mom will lecture them. Mom's afraid to tell them that she owns one, because they'll lecture her. It's fun in her office. You have to be *really* careful what you say, because each person knows different things about different people. 😉

pam+pan / teflon-coated pan
hamburger

slap a slab of hamburger on the pan w/ oil or just the teflon pan. season. cook to desired temp. enjoy

spray away grease after done. no scraping or messy cleanup

I'm almost tempted to say that this episode explains what's wrong with humanity (at lest the female side) but I'm not going to....

Nonetheless, human nature in a nutshell.

I can't believe this thread is still up.

It is not hard to cook burgers with no mess.. lol

Yeah, I know.. but still....

Maybe I'm OCD or something, but I would never be able to put a cooking dish away that was just wiped down.

It needs to be degreased.

That extra layer of grease/oil helps prevent sticking and prolongs the life of the nonstick surface. It's hard to get used to at first, but it really is OK.

BTW Eli's foil-covered cookie sheet in the oven broiler is the winner. I almost always cover the pan in foil when i bake/broil something that will be messy. It makes cleanup MUCH easier.

The George Foreman grill is great, but come on.. It's a fscking pain in the ass to clean.

Then again, I would never consider something that is soiled with grease clean after just wiping it down. That's not clean, that's nasty.

You can't dunk the whole thing under water like you can a normal dish. It's just a PITA.

Main reason I don't use mine anymore.

I have the same exact complaint about the Foreman grill as well as many other cooking implements of its ilk (like toasted sandwich makers, waffle irons, etc. . .) Would it really have killed them to make those metal cooking plates detachable/submersible for truly quick easy cleaning?

I respect your mother for working at OSU rather than crappy OU

Yeah.. they've gotten the hint, as new Foreman's DO have removable cooking surfaces.

is there a way to make a burger in the kitchen w/o any cleanup? (no, not bbq grill outside)

damn you, i want a burger now.

anyways, there is almost no way other than aluminum foil. you can cook right on aluminum foil in the oven without a cookie sheet underneath, but the burgers might be a bit heavy depending on how you make it.

george foreman is option number 2.

otherwise... to burger king you go.

Yeah right. You, me, and everyone else in the universe just leaves that filthy grill on the counter for a week before spending 20 minutes scrubbing the big chunks off and putting it away half clean.

Its not easy to clean. If the tray came off so you could put it in the sink it wouldn't be so bad, but as is its a PITA.
