Easiest way to get all contacts from one phone to another.

Going from a Samsung Galaxy Proclaim (Straighttalk) to a LG G2 on Verizon. What is the easiest way to get all my phone contacts to the new phone. The Verizon store has a machine that does it but they want $20, seems like a rip off.

Export all contacts to a VCF file, then import it on the LG.

Ok I see the options in my contacts for Import/Export and I actually remember backing them up before but I've never tried importing so I hope it works well. Under my "manage accounts" section it has the sync turned on for my gmail account but I don't know if that backs up my contacts. I guess we'll see tomorrow when I get the phone.

If you use the built in contacts app can't you sync them to Google? That way when you sign on with the G2 everything will be there.

Edit: Read your other post. Unless you have disabled it somehow your contacts will be synced.

Yep, they should be synced with google unless he created them as a phone-only contact (possible on HTC devices, not sure about Samsung).

In the contacts tab after hitting the contacts button all my phone contacts have a small red and white person icon next to the name. Under the groups tab they're all listed under "Not Assigned" category but not sure it matters.

Under the groups tab the "not assigned" section is at the top then there is a phone section that has the sub categories (family, friends, work). Next is the google section (with my gmail account name next to it) with the following sub categories (starred in android, co-workers, family, friends, my contacts) nearly all of those have a "google system group" label below them.

Its kind of confusing but it should be pretty quick tomorrow to see if its going to pull them all in with my Google account.

Log into gmail from a browser, select "Contacts" from the "Gmail" dropdown (there's a little down arrow). If your contacts are there, you're good.

My windows phone, at least, can pull contacts off of most phones by bluetooth. I'd suspect that Android can do the same.

Save contacts to gmail. Import them to any Android phone.

I've been on Android for so long that I don't even think about these things. My contacts are in gmail and automatically go to whichever Android device I am logged in to.

I'd check if your contacts are already in gmail.

OP, just move your contacts to Gmail and this will never be a problem again.

It should be synced to gmail by default afaik.
