Easiest way to Burn Torrent TV Shows to DVD

So the wife missed some episodes of her favorite shows and wants them downloaded...they come in .AVI format and I am curious if there is a generally fast and easy approach to getting these episodes onto a DVD so she can watch them at her convienence...

Any programs that are an all-in-one type of set up?

or

Can someone recommend me steps in order to convert the files and file multiple episodes on one disc?

As you probably guessed I don't know much about converting video files but I would love some tips...

Nero vision works pretty well, it will let you cram anywhere from 1-8 episodes on a disc using a space/quality tradeoff. Its really easy to use too, you basically just drag the avi files, drop them on the proggy, and click through the options.

Is this an add on feature for Nero? or is it something that comes with the basic install?

I've used ConvertXtoDVD for the conversion and it works well. It can create the entire DVD structure, including a menu with all the episodes.

Windows Movie Maker can also do this, but I think only the MCE version can output to DVD instead of just (S)VCD . Just find someone with the MCE version to send you the executable .

Or you could just get a dvd player that plays divx/xvid, and put the entire season on one dvd

Thats actually what we ended up doing.. Got one of those phillips players for like $50

Philips DVP642. I'm sure there are better Divx/Xvid players out there now, but for $50, it's a damn good Divx/DVD/MP3 player.

I've had mine now for almost 3 years and it's great.

Just checked our model, we have the DVP642 as well. Its a nice little player for $50 bucks, heck its even cheaper than buying nero heh.

I've had mine now for almost 3 years and it's great.

Is there any downside to purchasing a DVD player of this type? If they start converting shows and such in a different version of DIVX would that affect if the player could even play videos? or are previous versions backwards compatiable? Not to sound like I know what I am talking about or anything

I have the same one. There's the occasional xvid that it won't play, but for the most part it's been awsome.

Space permitting. Typical 'hour long' (~40 minute, sans commercial) TV show usually runs about 350 MB. At that rate, you'll get 12-13 shows on a single layer DVD.
