My father owns a company... my b/f owns a company.

I take care of the books/billing etc for both of them. I took a bedroom in the house, turned it into an office and work when I feel like it. I literally roll out of bed and into work... sometime around 10AM. I come and go as Iplease, my time is my own and no matter what toys I want to buy, I find a way to make it a business expense somewhere. I have total job security too.

Pay is not the greatest (fair not not spectacular)... but considering the perks... it is nice.

:)

Day shift at the adult store was really easy. I hit up the library for new books to read on a regular basis. Someone comes in, gives you a few bucks for tokens for the video booths, maybe a couple item sales or video rentals.
Satellite/wideband in the Air Force was pretty laid back on the 12-8 shift. Sometimes we'd shut off all the lights and take turns sleeping and watching videos.

I got paid $15 an hour doing ABSOLUTELY nothing. I literally sat on my ass surfing the net, 8 hours a day. I was supposed to answer phone calls but I had about 3 calls an hour.

After lunch things would get just downright halting. By the end of my two weeks, I wanted to kill myself out of sheer boredom. I was literally sick of all aspects internet.

I wanted to actually work...

Sounds a lot like my Saturday and Sunday shifts... answer a couple of calls an hr, each only about 2-3 mins long. It's the #1 reason why i got my iXPS2... so i can game at work.

Midnight security that I'm now engaged in. I basically run the whole mall. I can do what I want I guess. I could sleep, f*p it, watch a movie, play video games, exercise, etc.. The only problem is that it's during the 12-8am shift and those hours suck to say the least.

I'm graduating from college this fall. :)

Working for the UW library system. I worked for a year at the Health Sciences library as a student assistant. My job desciption was to pic up books from tables and copy machines (they were all medical journals so you could not check them out, just read and copy them) and put them back.

My actual time was spent finiding and selling partially used copy cards and breaking into the basement to get on the computer down there and surf the web. The basement door had this 6 number pin lock and they changed the code every 4 weeks. Usually took about 10 min of punching numbers to find the code :)

I work at a newspaper, get paid for time I dont' work (scheduled 7:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m., only work about 8 to 11:15), sit around until about 10 playing poker on pokerroom.com, playing flash games, neffing on ATOT... The pays not great (~$7.50/hour) but its Iowa so I guess for an 18 year old its pretty sweet...

Just take box scores from the coaches and write a little paragraph blurb on it... ~3 minutes a call, a minute writing, maybe 15 calls a night...

I was a temp at MCI for about 8 months before I started law school. I was an admin, and my boss was a very bright, highly-regarded young VP. I think he liked the idea they gave him an exec even though he didn't need one. He was gone at least 90% of the time on the road, and so I spent MAYBE 1 hour a week actually working (booking his travel). The rest of the time I'd read the paper, drink coffeee, read books, order myself office supplies, and play Doom on the 386 laptop they gave me to use. Unfortunately this was before the Web was widely used (summer of '95), although MCI was the first place I ever tried it. I was making $14/hour, which was pretty good cash in those days . . .

Lifeguarding.
Rec swims involved blowing the whistle and yelling at little kids every few minutes, but guarding during lap swims and lessons involved sitting and watching people swim. Every 15 minutes, we'd rotate to the next chair, then to break. So we basically did nothing and got a 15 minute break once per hour.
