you have to add it to your cart or view the item page. You get 15$ instant savings.

edit: oh wait... it's gone.

Dangit... the only reason I wasn't able to get in on this is because I am having problems ordering with paypal on newegg. I messaged support and was told I would be contacted in 24 hours but never got a response back. Bummer.

edit: Newegg fixed my issue. Thanks, Newegg!

Ahhh, missed on the deal... 🙁 But I saved money by not buying something I didn't need. 😀

We should start a support group for people who can't stay away from Hot Deals.

I've got 32 pending recent rebates. 🙁

I don't have that many, but I've got near 20 or so. Before November, I had ZERO.

LOL.

I would have bought this except that I just received the 380W version for $19 but would have rather had this for $35 (or less with PriceGrabber rebate). Although I'm sure that the 380W version will power the E6300 and 7600GT system with not much effort (or at least it should based on ratings of those components).

Watch for sale and Antec rebate. I paid $30 AR for Earthwatts 500, $10 AR for TruePower Trio 430, and $20 for TruePower Trio 550. Look for Version A2 if you decide to go with TP Trio. 100% sleeved cable and upgraded internal heat sinks.

The TP Trio 550 is currently my reference test PSU. Current test rig consists of one E4300 @ 3.49GHz, 2 GB DDR2 800 @ 483MHz/5-4-4-11-2T, one HDD, one flopply, and one 7300 GPU. Actual load with PC off is 2.6W. Idle load with C1E and EIST enabled is 49W. Orthos large load is 128W. These values are corrected for PSU efficiency at idle (72.6%) and Orthos (80.4%) loads.

Can you tell version from outside of the retail box, or do you have to look at label affixed to PSU?

Need to see the content. A2 has 100% black sleeved cable and black heat sinks. I suspect there may be some minor changes in electronics.

I also modded my PSU by adding a plastic deflector shield near the back to force all the incoming air to circulate over the heat sinks before escaping out the back. It is very important to keep the PSU cool under load.

TP Trios come with 5 yr warranty. Do not use the fan molex plug and the PSU should provide many years of trouble-free service. Note that the +12VDC is tightly-regulated between 12.06 and 12.12. Do not rely on software to check voltage. You need to use a calibrated multi-meter.

I think I have 7 pending. That's making me feel nervous. Lost a $50 while back on a LCD I got from BenQ, ever since then I don't feel too sure about rebates. Used to get almost all back. Anyhow I think I got about 150 in rebates between the 7.

Out of the hundreds of rebates, I've had one default on me but I didn't go after it hard as PC-Connection took care of it and refunded my credit card 🙂thumbsup: ) .

I had another rebate from ATI (OfficeDepot) that I went through corporate ATI HQ to get and it took me 8 months. Strangely enough, the original $20 rebate arrived from the rebate house 3 years later (yes, 3 year)! :Q

Technically, never lost a rebate (yet)! 😉

What's wrong with the fan molex plugs? They seem like a nice substitute for a separate fan controller to keep your case fans quiet.

It's connected in parallel to the 120mm ADDA cooling fan. Use at your own risk. You were warned.

but what is wrong with that? I still don't get it.

Too much current draw from the output device. Go to NewEgg to read about these PSUs going up in smoke. Not sure if the fan output was used with these units.

KISS. Use a good board with built-in fan speed control.

The TP Trio 430w has two fan-only connectors. Your typical case fans can actually draw enough current to overload it?

I only see one molex and one rpm sensor. Apparently, that is one primary failure mode of this PSU. The other electronics are based on the Seasonic PSU (no additional fan output wire).

Staples has this for $75. Throw in the $25 coupon that was e-mailed on 12/7 and it's $50+tax+fuel, no waiting for rebate.

Went with this one instead of the Antec.
CoolerMaster Extreme 550W RT RP-550-PCAR 69.99-30 instant coupon (EMC1207CASE01) -30.00 mail in rebate.
$18.00 after s/h and rebates.
