Earthwatts 430: 30 bucks AR free ship @ the egg

That's decent pricing, especially on the 430W. I may pick up one as a spare (to go along with the 3 other "spare" Earthwatts I have sitting around 😱 ).

Thanks, grabbing one of the 430 watt ones. Too bad I don't live near a Frys, last week they had the 500 for $49.

Newegg never fails to amaze me-ordered yesterday at 1:30PM, it's here before noon today, packed like a brick sh*thouse. All that for free shipping. Kudos!

This is an excellent PSU. With this PSU, my current system uses 110watts idle, up to 165watts under heavy load. C2Duo e4300@3.06ghz, 2gb ddr2, 7600gt, 3 HDD's, 1 dvd-rw. A good bit lower than my older seasonic.

🙁

I'm refusing delivery of another one I ordered from newegg and getting this. Will they refund the shipping charge on the other one (earthwatts 380)?

380 has 324w @ +12V. 430 has 360w @ +12V. That's a difference of 36w. Pure marketing unless you're running a UBER HIGH END single core GPU rig. The $20 PSU is a much better deal. The average overclocked C2D rig will pull about 250 to 275 watts.

In for 2 430 watt PSU's. Free shipping on the 430 makes it a better deal right now than the 380 which they charge shipping on.

This is an excellent deal for one of the top quality PSU's. If you ever worry about PSU fizzing out and taking the system components down with it, this is the one to have. I got the $30 430W PSU, this much power is plenty even for Q6600, so it's pretty future proof unless you run SLI/crossfire rigs.

Nice powersupply, very quiet because it only has one fan. The downside is my case temp moved up about 5 degrees centigrade. Currently 57, which is a bit too high for my comfort.

Is there a rebate for the 380 as well? In any case, I'd get the 430 just to be safe.

Don't forget that many PSU units will not hit the +80% efficiency level until 20% of full load. With the 380, you're at the 80% efficiency around 76 watts.

I don't know. You should call Newegg up and speak with a CSR (explain nicely that you ordered the wrong part).

Yup, the 430W ends up being just over $2 more, both after a $30 MIR.

Quiet = slow fan = higher temps. Your PSU fan should not be the primary exhaust fan in your case, so a 5ºC increase in temps would point to bad case ventilation or insufficient fans in the case.

ALL rebates are suspect in my book. :| I have had 2 Antec rebates MIA. However, I've gotten many other Antec rebates.

Great deal. Always send rebates with delivery confirmation. It's only a few bucks more at the most and completely worth it IMO. I picked one of the 430 watters up for my HTPC. It runs 24/7 on an Ultra V-Series 500 watter. In a few years, this PSU should pay for itself (maybe less).
