I don't get out of bed for anything less than a 6.:) I wouldn't have felt this one if I wasn't awake. No one in my house woke up. Looks like it was a mess of little aftershocks, rattled something loose up in big bear :)

I wonder if there was any snow up there to cause an avalanche or something though

a 9.5 I wouldn't have a bed left. That sh;t would rock anyones world. I'd probably be underwater if there was a 9.5 here. I'm about 1/2 mile from the ocean. I can't remember, but for every 3/10's its one order of magnitude worse. It's not a linear scale of force. Lemme see if I can find it.

Here it is:

he Richter Scale is logarithmic, meaning that whole-number jumps indicate a tenfold increase. In this case, the increase is in wave amplitude. That is, the wave amplitude in a level 6 earthquake is 10 times greater than in a level 5 earthquake, and the amplitude increases 100 times between a level 7 earthquake and a level 9 earthquake. The amount of energy released increases 31.7 times between whole number values.

A 9.5 would be incredible. There would be very little standing... that wasn't under water. :p
