Any survivors? Or does this mean that CA land is now free and up for grabs?
I suspect if this was a 6.1, your post would say "I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 7.0. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like 'uh, I still need to make copies and you guys made me evacuate after the stupid 5.1."I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 6.0. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like "uh, I got copies to make".
I heard that California floats! It was just a precursor. California is going to drop into the ocean...

Yea, makes sense . CA is pretty hardened, I would suspect most structures are engineered to handle some pretty violent shaking. At 6.1 the goalpost moves to "it depends how far the epicenter was from me".
Anything less dense than water will float. Wood, ducks, witches, the whole lot!I know that shit floats so California very well may.

Would you say: "I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 8.0 with an epicenter under 100 miles away. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like 'uh, I need to fix the paperjam because the copier jammed up due to all the shaking."
I am in Ventura and I felt it. I am the safety guy who tells everyone what to do during an earthquake. I went out in the shop to see how we did and everyone was looking at me. The lights weren't even shaking so we were good to go.I'm just south of DTLA and felt it, a long low rumbler. Was in a meeting and we all just kind of looked at each other.
Centered near the channel islands, so anyone on the mainland wouldn't have felt too much (other than around Oxnard).
Hopefully nothing that big comes for thousands of years. At 8.0 I'm firing up "Aenema" and then taking a dip down in Arizona bay.
I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 6.0. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like "uh, I got copies to make".
Wait, I thought you were an ATOT baller
