I'm just south of DTLA and felt it, a long low rumbler. Was in a meeting and we all just kind of looked at each other.

Centered near the channel islands, so anyone on the mainland wouldn't have felt too much (other than around Oxnard).

Felt a little down in OC. Like barely anything but enough for me to question if it was an earthquake.

Any survivors? Or does this mean that CA land is now free and up for grabs?

I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 6.0. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like "uh, I got copies to make".

I suspect if this was a 6.1, your post would say "I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 7.0. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like 'uh, I still need to make copies and you guys made me evacuate after the stupid 5.1."

At 6.1 the goalpost moves to "it depends how far the epicenter was from me".

Yea, makes sense . CA is pretty hardened, I would suspect most structures are engineered to handle some pretty violent shaking.
Would you say: "I don't even get out of bed unless it's a 8.0 with an epicenter under 100 miles away. Last time we had an earthquake at work, they had to evacuate the building and I was like 'uh, I need to fix the paperjam because the copier jammed up due to all the shaking."

At 8.0 I'm firing up "Aenema" and then taking a dip down in Arizona bay.

I am in Ventura and I felt it. I am the safety guy who tells everyone what to do during an earthquake. I went out in the shop to see how we did and everyone was looking at me. The lights weren't even shaking so we were good to go.

Live on the EC, the 5.6 one a few years ago is the biggest I have ever been in. Below is a link to a cool little program that generates all sorts of datas includdling citizen science data.

Final magnitude is being reported at a 5.3. even that strength had the news people asking experts if we should worry about a tsunami, since the thing happened about 35 miles off the coast.

Wait, I thought you were an ATOT baller but you make your own copies??? Wtf, I stopped making copies a decade ago, the only reason I know what room the copy machine is in is because I can hear it when I go take a piss.
