Earthquake in San Jose

posted in the oldsmothread:

It was weak at 3.9, but it occurred ~1km from me. It was quick, but the room was certainly shaking for about 4 seconds. I've been in this building for 2 earthquakes (this place is a freaking fortress), and haven't felt stronger earthquakes.

Every body in the building was a bit shaken.... :hmm:

good thing they're working on the stadium. 😀

whelp. there goes #2.

just felt in Albany. lasted about 3 seconds. maybe that was 5 seconds? I don't know. this shit really freaks me out. I much prefer hurricanes. 🙁

I was on the golf course and one of my partners said there was an earthquake, he felt stuff, said the trees were creaking. This was Tilden Park in the Berkeley Hills.

But there was a quake about 34 minutes ago that was very sharp here in Berkeley. Stuff fell off my walls and tore a piece of molding off at the ceiling/wall joint. Had me worried for a second that the Big One had come. USGS site says the epicenter was in Berkeley, 4.2.

This appears to be a cluster, just saying. There's a heightened risk of a big quake right now, but still unlikely.
