earphones help, and car adapter help

I'd like some input on earphones since I don't know jack about any. I mainly listen to rock/metal, and don't mind spending for quality.

(is this the wrong forum by the way?)

Thanks guys 🙂

Update

I would also like something that connects my mp3 player to my car. Is there a known product for this?

I picked up a pair of Shure E2c's for around 105 bucks for my MP3 player. Pretty bad a$$ for the price. They make more expensive models (E3c's=$150 and E4c's=$300) but I couldn't justify the extra expense for my workouts. If you prefer over the ear head phones try out the Bose Tri Port line.

I'd like earphones, so headphones are kinda out of the question here. How about seignhiser? (however that's spelled) How do they compare to shure?

At the lower end of the market i've got a pair of Sony EX71SLs, in ear isolating job, good sound quality but it's like having your fingers in your ears at the same time, odd but it cuts down on the noise of the tube in the morning.

Yeah I just want good sound quality, I don't really care about noise cancelling..

Right now I'm using sony mdr-v150 headphones. Theyre kinda bulky for traveling, but I think they sound awesome. Do those earphones sound better or worse then my headphones? I just like some perspective here.

I've heard a lot of good things in the earbud section with obviously the
shure e2s, which have always been stellar performers, but also with Etymotic Er-6i (or Er-4, one of the two), which is another 90-150$ earbud set. I personally use Sennheiser Hd555 (headphones) for my listening. The sound is a little colored, and they are pretty massive (also open, which can be a pain) but they sound fantastic. Traditionally, dollar-for-dollar (in my experience, at least) headphones will sound better than earphones.

Just my take on it,

I have the Etymotic Er-6i and really like them, like mentioned before these are isolation ear buds so they are a bit different at first but great for plane rides and at the gym but maybe not what you were looking for.

I've got a pair of the Etymotic earphones. It is amazing the sound that comes out of those suckers. I had mine for about three years now and I really like how they perform. They are kind of pricey but you get what you pay for...😀
