A lady from this research company called me about an opportunity for a VMWare focus group study.

Location: Sunnyvale, California
Date: June 20th, 2008 (Friday)
Time: between 8AM to 5:30PM (you can pick basically any time)
Length: 1.5 to 2 hours of your time

Basically, you come in and they will ask you questions about VMWare and your opinion for this or that. Things you like about it and things you don't like. You'll probably get a chance to play with some alpha versions of their software.

I've done it before and they cut you a check at the end of the session (none of the we'll-mail-you-a-check-later BS). It's at least $75. Depending on the study, you could get up to $150.

I would do it, but I'm going to be out of town that week.

Please let me know if you are interested and I will get you in touch with the scheduler person.

man, i expected the black man avatar

LOL why's that?

Most spammers just use the default avatar, which is the cool black guy. Your thread topic sounded like spam.

Oh. I've been here since 2000 as you can see. This company calls me to do these studies from time to time. I just thought some of you IT guys who are near the area might like to make some quick cash. 🙂

nothing in NYC? aw

I concur! 🙁

I could ask them if they have offices in NYC that does these kinds of case studies (not necessarily related to VMWare).

That would be appreciated ColdFusion718!

VMWare called and asked if I wanted 75-150k/year when I worked for a certain competitor of theirs.

why didnt they ask if you wanted a job for 10k to 5m/year instead?
i don't understand the huge salary ranges, so if i am the most perfect fit for the job and if I was asking for 155k, would they throw my resume out the window because I asked for too much?

The range covers entry/mid to upper level positions...we want anyone from 3 years to 20 years working in this field.

They do these in Atlanta too. I always have to get the emails outta my spam folder at work so maybe Ill go check it 😉

how many would be picked that heard it online?

Usually these things are closed the NEXT day by locals that already signed up THAT day.
