Thye all thought black friday started early.

Voted on Tuesday. No line to speak of. Parked right by the entrance. Took maybe 10 minutes for the whole process.

Digital display on balloting machine. Spin wheel to highlight - press Enter to select. Auto-advanced to next political office up for vote. Final page to review all selections before submitting.

The amendments are nothing major. If you're registered in Salt Lake County, you'll also vote to give funding to the Hogle Zoo and Tracy Aviary. (Proposition 1 and 2)

Yep. Everything from President on down to local officials and judges. Plus numerous laws and amendments on the local, county, and state level.

I know that in my county there is a website which listed all of the poll locations as well as the wait times for each one. The site was updated every 2 hours with the new wait times. My SO and I used it and got through the line at the location we chose in about 40 min. Down the road 15 minutes away was another location where the wait time was 5 hours.

Take a look and see if you can find a similar website or try to make a logical guess as to which location will be the least popular.

I voted early, I had to wait for one other person in front of me. But I'm in Canada, and the other 8 people who voted in my area on election day probably didn't have much of a wait either.

Well yeah I know that, but you guys still manage to fuck it up. Voting machines that switch votes, power down, reset counts, count backwards, scantrons, touch screens, those god-awfully confusing Florida ballots, line ups down the block and around the corner for early voting.

The net effect is a lot of people don't get to vote, or are confused and don't end up voting how they want. The right idea is there, but you guys still manage to fuck it up

Update: Went by my voting precinct this morning at 7AM only to find a line stretching out the door and down and around the corner of the school. Easily 2 hours long. I went to work instead.

Came back at about 2:40PM and there was barely a line. It took a total of 15 minutes. It would have been less than that too if it hadn't been for the moron ahead of me when we were turning in our voter cards demanding to see the machine where they tabulate the votes.

Yeah man, I went at 10:30 and there was no line. My theory is that a lot of people commute long distances, so their only options are voting before or after work. Some local workers with less flexible schedules will vote at lunch time. So I figure the best times to vote are after 9:30-11:30 and 1:30-4:30. Then you just have to deal with the old people, the stay at home moms, and the unemployed.

dude, THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC ON THE LIE THIS MORNING. that was freaking awesome, a 1hour commute was like 35 minutes!

and i voted right as soon as i was there, no line and anything.
