Dammit. I've seen the Dark Knight three times and I would've gone to see it with him! My name is on the account so the letter comes to me.

Now we've got to have a chat. What a pain in the arse.

Fair enough.

I had a new roommate move in earlier this week. He must have been downloading The Dark Knight in the last day or so because this morning, I received a DMCA notice from my ISP with scary wording.

Now he and I are going to have to put a stop to that.

Is what I'm saying.

I really should have said that my name is on the cable bill. A tad confusing, that. My apologies.

A DMCA notice is what you get from your internet provider, tellling you that they've been informed that you illegally downloaded/uploaded something. They threaten all sorts of things if you're caught again.

Keep in mind it could just be the MPAA being jerks and sending out notices without any proof etc. Of course it could also be legit, just don't assume that your roomate is guilty.

Was it a letter in the mail?

Probably using torrents without a blacklist lulz.

Needs to get him IP Filter.. better yet, stop torrenting new movies ~_~.

Your name is on the account? Ban him from the network... or restrict his access to all ports but the basics (aim / 8080 (or just 80)/etc).
