I had it done professionally at a doctor's once...the hearing improvement was incredible. High frequency response especially improved. I need to do it again as I'm having to say "what?" a lot lately. Dunno if I want to mess around with my own ears, even if it is just drops and warm water.

Do you know what the procedure name was? Or did you just ask them to clean out your ears?

Basically...I went in because I jumped in the shower one morning, and something jostled and I suddenly couldn't hear out of one ear anymore. So they put me on a chair and had me turn my head, and then used this vacuum-type thing to clean both ears out. The noise was really grating (at least to me) but boy were the results worth it.

I use q-tips 2x a week, no problems.
I've heard that using Q-tips can actually be the casue of the problem.. because it pushes more back into your ear than it takes out, causing those plugs....

I actually had a doctor tell me that. Of course, I can't live without my Q-tips!

When my ear was plugged up a while back, I ended up buying H2O2 to get the clog out, the ear wax removal kit simply didn't get any response at all. 🙁

It actually 3 or 4 treatments and a week to get the clog out of my ear. It was very annoying.

What about that dude who had some kind of parasite burst out of his shoulder blade?

I had it done at a doctor's office too. One time while wakeboarding, I hit the water hard, and couldn't hear out of one ear. So I went to the doctor's office, and it turned out that the water rushing up there had take a chunk of the wax with it, expanded it, and blocked my ear canal. So he did the cleaning with the little warm water jet thing, and some pick. It was amazing how much better I could hear after that, in both ears.

man is it just the koreans i know (including me) that clean out our own ears with a think bamboo stick with a curved little end??

I don't think it's just the Koreans. Walgreens had this little plastic thing with a end that looked like a mini ice cream scooper. I looked at it and thought, "no way am I shoving that thing in my ear!" So it works?

did you dilute it before pouring into your ears?

that earwax kit contains 8% carbamide peroxide. That's the active ingredient in teeth whitening products. For example Colgate Simply White once a day gel is ~18% carbamide peroxide. I guess it would be just as easy to poor some hydrogen peroxide into your ears, as you did.

depending on what concentration he bought in the first place, dilution might not be necessary...I certainly wouldn't want to pour the concentrated stuff down my ears. It's interesting how quickly it rusts metal when heated, though.
